The combination of continuous pale flooring and wood-lined walls defines Calissa’s interiors. Pale, marble-like surfaces visually connect the living room and dining room and recur in tables and countertops, creating continuity in texture and tone between the architecture and the furniture. Wood is concentrated on vertical surfaces, providing a warm backdrop to the light-coloured furnishings. Its use across panelling, doors and shelving integrates storage and access points into the wall compositions rather than treating them as separate elements.

In the living room, the double-height space enhances the sense of openness. A built-in wall unit combines smooth surfaces with fluted finishes, creating a textural contrast that adds depth and makes the tall wall a focal point. Ivory upholstery and richly textured rugs balance the sheen of the polished surfaces, while low sofas preserve open sightlines. The rugs define the seating area without enclosing it, maintaining the spaciousness of the room and its connection to the pool and garden.

The dining room was conceived as the centrepiece of the home. Wine-toned chairs stand out against the pale stone, concentrating colour around the table. Above it, the recessed ceiling features an aged-bronze-effect metallic finish, framed by indirect lighting that reveals its texture and reinforces the dining room’s presence within the social area. The table’s rounded edges and sculptural base give it a distinctive presence even when not in use, while the bronze-finished pendant completes the composition, echoing the warm tones of the wood and the bar detailing.

The lighting responds to this arrangement of materials. Integrated into shelving and niches, it reveals surface textures and adds depth to the walls, while suspended fixtures take on a more expressive role above the seating area. Daylight entering through the expansive glazing completes the interior, revealing veining, textile weaves and variations in texture throughout the day.
